From the space program, we have learned that it takes tremendous power to clear the pull of Earth’s gravity. So it is with breaking old habits. Breaking deeply embedded habits such as criticizing, overeating, procrastinating, or laziness involves more than a little wishing and willpower. Sometimes our own resolve isn’t enough, and we would be wise to use the reinforcing relationships found in people and programs to help hold us accountable and responsible.
